Iron Fey 3
Julie Kawaga
Ash and Meghan find themselves exiled from the Nevernever. Meghan decides that the first thing that she needs to do is get back the memory of her father. They go to the oracle that she gave it to and she asks for a token (object treasured so much that it has special powers of its own). Luckily, Ash knows of a cemetery where they might be able to find one. They retrieve it and are chased out of the cemetery by a hellhound. They are able to complete this side mission and return to Lea to get her father back. Luckily, Ash also took the ring’s mate and trades it to Lea for Meghan’s father.
Lea offers them a place to stay. Meghan’s father starts to regain his memory and a very reluctant Puck starts working with her to learn how to use summer glamour without getting sick. She improves, but not much before they have to leave. They go to the front lines where the Seelie and Unseelie fey are trying to hold back the Iron fey. As they are not being very successful, Oberon and Mab ask Meghan to return to the Iron realm to destroy the false king. Mab provides Ash and Puck with tallismens that will temporarily prevent the affects of the Iron realm on them.
The group once again travels into the Iron realm. They meet up with a rebel force that has taken over Mechina’s castle. While staying with them, they meet up with Rowan who tries to mess with their heads, but they know better by now. They return to the rebels to find them under attack. After a few losses, they defeat the False King’s attack. One of the Iron Fey shows Meghan what she’s up against (a moving fortress being carried by packrats). Meghan finds that she can understand the gremlins and tells one of them to gather all of his kind to fight against the False King.
The Rebel forces meet up with Summer and Winter’s for the battle against the False King. While Oberon and Mab are reluctant at first, they agree to the help. The Iron Fortress arrives and Meghan, Ash, and Puck go into it to battle the False King. Upon arriving, Meghan finds that the False King is Ferren, the original Iron King. However, he reveals that Mechina gave the Iron King’s power to Meghan, making her the true Iron Queen. She ends up killing him by combining her summer and iron glamour. This almost kills her and Ash takes her to a large tree. She combines her essceance with the tree to form the new Iron realm and to prevent it from spreading into the other realms any further. However, neither Meghan nor the new Iron realm can exist without the other. Ash vows to find a way to be with her.
