Blood Coven Vampires 8
by Mari Mancusi
Sunny wakes up in her old room, thinking that she is dreaming. She hears Rayne scream and goes to her sister. Rayne tells her that Hades has given them a second chance. It is one month before Sunny is bitten.
Rayne explains that they are the only two that remember what happened. Sunny marvels at her twin’s sacrifice for her.
The twins are having trouble fitting in at school. Sunny can’t stand her friend’s inane talk about lip gloss. The sisters promised to stay away from all things otherworldly, but once Rayne says that is the night she is supposed to meet Magnus for the first time, Sunny has other ideas.
Sunny impersonates Rayne and goes to her sister’s vampire class. She meets Magnus, but he seems to be laughing at the gothed up recruits. Sunny turns to leave, but ends up falling down. Charity, one of Magnus’ donors, helps her out. Magnus comes over and charity introduces Sunny as his future blood mate, Rayne. The nights class will be a practice bite.
Debating whether or not she can handle Magnus bitting her, Sunny thinks about how Lucifent is still alive and Magnus is not in charge of the Blood Coven. There is an instructional video staring Pyrus, and Sunny realizes that she and Rayne can’t allow him to stay in power over the Consortium.
Rayne goes to Club Fang to find Jareth. She finds him on the dance floor and is pushed into him. He is a complete jerk like when they originally met the first time around. His girlfriend comes up and kisses him. Rayne freaks out, screams, and leaves completely embarrassed.
Back at home, the twins admit that they went to see their significant others. Sunny explains that she wants to change the future for the better, and to get their boyfriends back.
Sunny finds Magnus and tells him about the threat to Lucifent from Slayer Inc. He takes her to the coven master, but Jareth won’t let her see him without proof, especially since Rayne has been pestering him. Magnus says they should find proof.
With some instructions from Rayne, Sunny and Magnus are able to break into Slayer Inc headquarters and find Lucifent’s file with orders to kill him. As they get ready to leave, Bertha shows up.
Sunny and Magnus fight Bertha together, but the slayer is too much for them. Luckily, Mr. Teifert comes in and stops her from killing Magnus. He explains that Lucifent is a danger to the entire human race. Sunny and Magnus are to be held until the order is carried out.
Down in a dungeon, Magnus lies bleeding from the silver plated knife Bertha stabbed him with. Sunny offers her blood and he drinks. He realizes she is special, but she’s not ready to tell the whole truth yet.
Rayne has been waiting on Sunny for too long. She heads to Slayer Inc and finds Magnus’ car. Jareth is also there to check on Magnus and isn’t pleased to find Rayne. They agree to work together. Just as they enter the building, Jareth takes a call from his girlfriend. Rayne is furious, but they move on.
Sunny falls asleep in Magnus’ arms and doesn’t wake up until Rayne and Jareth come to their rescue. They tell Jareth that Lucifent’s slaying has been moved up to that night.
The vampires abandon the twins to go save their coven master. Sunny and Rayne make it to the cemetery that houses the coven’s entrance just in time to see them save Lucifent. The master kills Bertha and drinks her blood before spotting them. Sunny is worried that they messed up by letting Lucifent live as he talks about his plans.
Sunny and Rayne are anxious about how they have changed the future, wondering what Lucifent’s Project Z entails. Magnus comes over to ask Sunny to go to Las Vegas with him and Lucifent to meet with Pyrus and the Vampire Consortium. He also wants to turn her right away. Sunny agrees to Vegas, but not to being rushed into the ranks of the undead. Especially since she hasn’t told him everything.
Jareth comes to Rayne in a dream to warn her about Lucifent’s Project Z. She is attacked by zombies and he rescues her. He tells her that Hades is not happy because Lucifent and Pyrus will use the zombies to take over the world.
Rayne goes to Slayer Inc to talk to Mr. Teifert. Her friend, Spider, answers the door, saying she is the next slayer and won’t let Rayne through.
Rayne tries to get past Spider, but her friend’s stake shoots out flames. The front porch catches on fire and Spider freaks out. Rayne gets a fire extinguisher and puts the fire out. They make up.
Spider takes Rayne to talk to Teifert. She tells him everything and he agrees to back Rayne going after the voodoo queen Jareth has been wooing to prevent her from raising the zombies. She agrees to take Spider at his request.
Rayne and Spider sneak onto a plane Jareth and the voodoo queen are taking with a small horde of zombies. They do their best to fit in, but Rayne throws up when she is served brains.
Magnus is preoccupied with Sunny. She gets frustrated and tells him everything. He thinks she is a spy and sends for guards.
Rayne convinces Jareth to talk to her. She has him bite her which enables her to show him some of her memories, including his sister’s confession. Jareth is about to kiss Rayne when the voodoo queen, Glenda, catches them.
Sunny is taken into a room with Pyrus, Lucifent, and Magnus. when she mentions the zombies being used to rule the world, Pyrus admits that is his plan. Lucifent is not going along with it, so Pyrus kills him. Magnus pretends to be loyal to survive and gets Sunny out of their. However, since Sunny mentioned that she is a fairy princess, Pyrus wants her as his blood mate.
Glenda unleashes her zombies. They try to fight them off, but Jareth points out that Glenda is the only one who can stop them. Spider heads to the front of the plane and ends up bonding with the broken hearted zombie queen. Rayne gets to her gun and is about to fire when Spider steps in the way. Glenda calls off the zombies and offers to grant Spider one wish.
Sunny is being held captive in a fancy suite with anything she could need. Magnus comes to see her, disguised as a waiter. She begs him to turn her and he obliges. Pyrus comes to the door and Sunny acts happy to see him.
Sunny takes her walk down the aisle to Pyrus. She turns around and starts telling the present vampires of his plans. Pyrus bites her and realizes that she is already bonded. The other vampires try to help, but he has too many guards keeping them at bay. Rayne and Jareth arrive with Spider leading the zombies (her wish was to be the zombie queen for a day). They take Pyrus into custody to await trial. Sunny suggests that Magnus campaign to lead the Consortium. She also tells him that she wants to stay his blood mate. Jareth plans to turn Rayne.
Pyrus is sentenced to eternal life in prison and Magnus is voted in for his job. Sunny, as his blood mate, is his co-leader. The twins parents are able to save the grandma so that everyone is safe from fairies. Rayne reintroduces their mom to David. Hades gives Magnus and Jareth their old memories. Jareth proposes to Rayne, who is starting a vampire college to inform people what really happens when you become undead. She continues to be the vampire ambassador to Slayer Inc, who continues to employ Spider.
