Dark Olympus 1
Katee Robert
1. Persephone is in the statue room where her sister, Psyche, finds her thinking about how odd it is that Hades hasn’t been replaced (the positions of the 13 are elected, except Zeus, which is a legacy role.) since the last one died. She wants to take the cloth off his statue. Zeus rules over both domains without leaving Olympus. The four daughters of Demeter (Persephone, Psyche, Eurydice, and Callisto) have difficulty dealing with the Olympus parties. Persephone takes on the role of bright and bubbly while Callisto isn’t forced to go because she is too much of a wildcard. At the past few events, Persphone could feel Zeus watching her so she plans to avoid him at tonight’s party. She keeps a low profile and tells her mother she has a headache and plans to leave early. Demeter tells her Zeus wants to talk to her. Persephone reminds her mother that Zeus has allegedly killed his past three wives. As they approach Zeus, Persephone reminds herself she only has three months until she is free of Olympus. Zeus announces he has chosen Persephone to be his new Hera and asks her to marry him. She knows saying “no” isn’t an option and says yes. She has lost hope of gaining her freedom.
2. Persephone can barely contain her horror. Psyche asks her sister to go to the bathroom with her and they go together. Instead, they go down to the first floor of Dodono Tower and into the courtyard. Persephone knows she cannot go through with the engagement and is furious her mother has seemly sold her to gain power and political connections. She throws up and Psyche gives her some gun. She sends Psyche back upstairs to get her things and tell their mother she is sick and going home. She realizes she can’t include any of her sisters in her plan to escape or they will be consequences for them as well. In her panic, she starts to walk alone knowing she cannot go home. She considers stopping in a bar to warm up from the winter wind, but she notices two men are following her. When one tries to cut across her patch, she makes a turn and starts moving faster. When they gain too much on her, she kicks off her shoes and tries to run. One of the men says Zeus wants to talk to her. She runs towards the River Styx and comes to the Cypress Bridge. She sees a dark man in the other side staring at her. She crosses the bridge to the lower city even though it is extremely physically painful to do so. Olympus law does not allow anyone to cross the river. Persephone doesn’t care the price as long as she gets away from Zeus.
3. Hades watches as Persephone runs away from two of Zeus’ men. She crosses a bridge over the River Styx where they cannot follow without breaking the treaty. He carries Persephone over his shoulder while Minthe and Charon follow him. He takes a tunnel underground to get home with her as quickly as possible. When he gets to the kitchen, he puts her on the counter. Hermes and Dionysus are their eating pie and drinking win. He can tell they have come from a party. When they notice Persephone, they tell him she is Zeus’ fiancé. He sends them to rooms in his house so they can sober up. Persephone tries to hobble away insisting she needs to get away from her kidnapper and can handle her situation herself. Hades notices she is bleeding. He puts her back in the counter and shows her the blood from the bottom of her feet while he starts making sure there isn’t any glass in the wounds.
4. Persephone is shocked that Hades does exist when most people in Olympus think he is only a myth. She tries to argue that she is okay to leave, but Hades convinces her it would be better for her to stay in his guest room. He leaves her there and she uses the phone in the room to call her sisters. They are all surprised she took off without a plan. Demeter and Zeus both have search parties out looking for her. Persephone points out that Zeus knows exactly where she is because his men chased her there. They offer to help her however they can, but Persephone tells them she will think about it and let them know the next day. After hanging up with them, she checks the bedroom door for a lock. There is my one on the main door, so she drags the comforter to the bathtub and locks herself in the bathroom and falls asleep.
5. Hades wakes up to Hermes in his kitchen having coffee and ice cream. She has changed her clothes from her party attire. Dionysus joins them Mr is extremely hung over. They take their coffee and leave. Hades goes to check in Persephone and finds her locked in the bathroom. He convinces her to come out and she takes the huge comforter with her still wrapped up in it. When she winces at the pain of her feet, Hades picks her up and puts her in the bed. He notices she is beautiful and he is attracted to her. He decides to be morally sound, but she says she thinks they can help each other.
6. Persephone stands up to give her proposal to Hades. She explains she had already planned on leaving Olympus when she turns 25 and her trust becomes available to her. It they can pretend to have a relationship to twist the knife in Zeus and make Persephone “tainted” to the point where he doesn’t want her. This appeals to Hades because he hates Zeus for killing his parents, but points out the spies would quickly figure out a fake relationship. She notices he keeps looking at her injured feet and she sits back down to make him more comfortable. Persephone offers to have sex with him. Hades says he is not interested. She takes the rejection and starts thinking of how she will have to hide for the next three months and possibly see if she can get her passage to California early. Hades stands in front of her and tells her he will agree to her deal if she is his for the next three months. He warns her it will include public fornication and she is excited by the idea. They agree and kiss to seal the deal.
7. As they kiss, Hades feed a pang of guilt. He pushes Persephone away to discuss his plans with his people. He goes to his office to find Andreas, his retired advisor who has been like an uncle to him since his parents were killed by Zeus. As a new leader, His father had taken everything at face value and trusted Zeus. Hades has been ruling since he was 16 and has about 16 years of experience under his belt. Andrew’s warns him what he is doing could end badly. Hades argues that Zeus cannot cross to the lower city. If he breaks the treaty (which took Hades’ parents’ death to put in place), the Thirteen will stop him. Andreas isn’t sure Hades can win the battle he is starting. The phone rings and Hades answers knowing it is Zeus, who is fuming. Hades plays into Persephone’s plan by saying she is his now and she chose Hades over him. Zeus gives him 24 hours to return her to him before hanging up.
8. Mynthe resentfully drops off some of her dresses for Persephone as Hades ordered. Persephone gets herself ready and wears one of them. When Hades arrives, she is about to put a pair of heels on. He stops her and carries her instead. She tries to ignore him thinking that will get him to stop carrying her, but soon they arrive at a sleek black door. He asks her for a safe-word and she jokes about him only being strict in consent in sexual matters. Hades second guesses this plan, but Persephone assures him it is what she wants. She decides on pomegranate and they go inside. There is a throne and various pieces of sex equipment. They go over what she is comfortable with and what rules she must follow while she is there. She realizes he uses the room to cultivate his reputation and he realizes she is smarter than she lets on. He puts her on a dias and turns on the spotlights so she can get a feel for what it will be like when the room is full of people watching them. He tells her to undress and she does. He tells her the plans for the night and she agrees.
9. Hades uses his hand to get Persephone off and then takes her back to her room. She tries to seduce him, but he is being careful not to give up his power knowing she could easily ruin his reputation. He applies ointment to her feet and re-wraps them in bandages. He scolds her for not taking care of herself and insists he will do it for her. She protests that she agrees to sex, not a cranky babysitter.
10. Hades is about to leave when Persephone asks her to stay, he asks what she wants and she admits she wants to misbehave. She promises to be on her best behavior the next night if he gives her what she wants right then. He agrees and warns her getting her way won’t always be so easy. They both get off without having sex. He cleans her up and the. They lay together fir a while. He asks why she puts in the sunny personality act. She explains her sister and her do what they can to survive Olympus. Euyridice (the youngest) is an innocent dreamer dating Orpheus who pretends to be a starving artist. Persephone is worried he will break her heart. psyche tries to fly under the radar and people love her for it. Callisto (oldest) really is as angry as she seems. She already has her trust fund and Persephone can’t understand why she hasn’t used it to get away from Olympus. Persephone has played the role of keeping the peace not knowing it would be her downfall in Olympus.
11. After Persephone falls asleep, Hades reluctantly sneaks out of her room. He checks the windows and doors on the first floor for his own peace of mind before going to his room. When he gets there, Hermes is waiting on him. She tells him she has a message for him from Demeter. She impersonates Demeter perfectly and delivers the message that she wants Persephone returned to the upper city. Hades response tells her Persephone is there of her own free will and if anyone tries to forcefully remove her, they will have to go through him. Hermes does her impression of Hades next. He tries to explain it isn’t a message to take back to Demeter, but Hermes doesn’t listen to him and takes off. The next morning, Hades goes down to his kitchen and finds Persephone helping his housekeeper Georgie with breakfast. Georgie has turned down any attempts he has tried to make at helping for as long as he can remember. He is surprised to find she let Persephone. Persephone is in a good mood and she says with a wink it is because she had good dreams. Hades knows he cannot send her back to Demeter and Zeus now.
12. Hades takes Persephone to the front door where he has boots and a coat waiting for her. They walk together (if he is so concerned about her feet, why didn’t he drive them?) to a warehouse. A former upper city designer, Juliette, who used to work for Zeus’ first Hera welcomes them. Hades tells her Persephone needs everything. Juliette takes her to get measured and try in clothes. When they go to leave, Hades says Charon will be by later to pick everything up. Persephone is concerned about not being able to pay, but Hades says he has taken care of it. She asks to see more of the lower city and he takes her to a flower shop with a rooftop greenhouse that has an incredible view of the River Styx and both cities. He tells her he worked there when he stole the owners car and tries to leave Olympus when he was 14. He couldn’t do it and returned the car. Andreas had him work in the shop for a few weeks as punishment to give him a break. As they are getting ready to leave, Persephone gets dizzy and almost falls. Hades catches her and takes her back to the house. He Carrie’s her up to his own room and puts her in the couch. Not long after, staff are bringing her food from several local restaurants. She agrees to eat and he goes to his desk. She likes how overprotective Hades is of her, but she decides to start taking better care of herself.
13. Hades pretends to read a book while he watches Persephone. She eats and then falls asleep. He makes preparations for later that night and then comes to wake her up. He tells her to get ready in his room and has clothes laid out for her. She invited him to watch her shower and he follows. She tries to seduce him, but he tells her she only has 40 minutes to get ready and leaves her to it. When she comes out in a Princess Leia type lingerie, he leads her back to his sex dungeon. He has hand chosen who would be allowed in the room that night. They go to his throne and has her sit on his lap. He notices she is stiff and he tells her she win’s be in the dais that night. She relaxes a bit and he tells her to enjoy the show.
14. She watches as a man and woman take the dais and start the show. She gets turned on and Hades starts touching her. She asks him to take her, but he ends up telling her to take him. She asks to see him naked soon, but he says it will never happen. She does and he positions her so the entire room can see her get off. She sinks into him and he says he isn’t done with her yet.
15. When the show ends, Persephone is curled up against Hades. He tells her the show has ended and they have to deal with the politics now. Eros, Aphrodite’s son, some up to them smiling. When he makes a comment about Persephone upsetting a lot of people in the upper city, she is quick to respond how they upset her. She tells him his mother can occupy Zeus like she has been doing for years. He makes his way to a table of friends for their own festivities. Hermes and Dionysus grab a chair to join them. When Hermes points out how the rumors have already started to spread, Persephone suggests she be a real friend to Hades rather than running back to Zeus with information. Hades reminds her that is Hermes job, but this endears her to Hermes. Both Hermes and Dionysus know a war could be in the way. They believe a third of the Thirteen will side with Zeus no matter what and the rest could go either way. Hades tries to think about what he can do to protect Persephone’s sisters and his own people. He picks up Persephone to take her back to his room.
16. Persephone is furious with the hypocrisy of the upper city sneaking down to the lower city to sexually entertain themselves while all the while pretending to be pure. She starts asking questions and realizes Hades knows something he isn’t telling her. When they are in his room with the door closed, he admits Demeter sent him an ultimatum: send back Persephone or she will cut off the food supply to the lower city. Persephone cannot risk his people’s lives for her freedom. She decides she will go back to the upper city. Hades asks if she wants to go back and she admits she doesn’t. He tells her he has always had a plan in place for when the Thirteen decided to turn on him. He has a deal with Triton, Posiedon’s right hand man, to supply the city with food. Nothing short of war will disturb much of the lower city. She realizes how much he cares for his people. He darkens the room and they have sex. At first he makes her keep her hands above her head, but after asking, he allows her to feel the scars all over her body. Afterwards they stay in bed together and Persephone realizes she doesn’t want it to end when winter does.
17. Hades wakes up in the morning and likes the look of Persephone in his bed. He gets ready for the day and then checks his phone. He has a message from Hermes that there is a meeting at 9 am. Hades goes to the desk in his room and logs into the video meeting. The Thirteen (minus a Hera) are all present amongst 4 different video feeds. Zeus demands the return of his fiancé and Demeter accused him of holding Persephone captive. Hades says she is there of her own free will and they ask for proof. Phersephone comes up behind Hades in just a bed sheet to confirm what he says and hangs up in all of them. They exchange oral sex.
18. Later that day, Hermes finds Persephone in the kitchen and delivers a message from Psyche to call them as soon as she can. Persephone uses the new phone Hades got her to video call Psyche. All of her sisters are there. She tells them she is okay and all about her plan to make herself undesirable to Zeus. They are unsure about her situation, but trust her. They all tell her not to worry about them and then hang up. Suddenly, Persephone is more worried about her sisters. She calls Psyche back and asks what she isn’t telling her. Psyche admits they have seen people following them when they leave the penthouse. She thinks Zeus and Demeter are trying to draw her back into the upper city. Oherseohine wonders if they will try to out one of her sisters in her place with Zeus, but Psyche tells her it would be too much of an embarrassment for Zeus. Persephone feels selfish and guilty, but Psyche tells her she is doing the right thing and not to come back no matter what. Persephone agrees to stay where she is until she can escape Olympus safely.
19. Hades comes home from a day of making sure the lower city is prepared for whatever Zeus and Demeter might throw at them to find Persephone on the couch in a dress. He likes the domestic view. He takes her out to the winter market where a bunch of vendors gather in a large warehouse with their own booths. They eat gyros and then explore for a while. They walk home and Hades can tell Persephone is tired. Her Carrie’s her to his bed and tells her to put her things away while he checks the first floor before bed. When he returns, he finds her asleep. He gets ready for bed and joins her. She pulls him close ti her and they sleep.
20. Weeks pass and neither Zeus or Demeter has made much of a move against Hades. Persephone asks why Hades hasn’t taken her back to his playroom. They realize Zeus might not be making his move because they haven’t given him a reason to. Hades says they will plan a party for the next night and asks Persephone what she wants. She admits she wants to be on the dais. The have sex and then he picks her up and Carrie’s her to their now shared room. She asks him to leave the lights on while he undressed and he does. She sees all of the burn marks in him from the fire that killed his parents. It makes her more angry at Zeus. Hades admits he wants him dead.
21. The next morning, Hades wakes up and realizes he is falling in love with Persephone. She tells him she feels selfish for just running out on her sisters without a plan in place. Hades points out she wasn’t given much choice and she reacted better than most would have. They mutually decide to start having sex without condoms. Hades likes how much Persephone trusts him. They have sex and then he tells her he plans to take her to the greenhouse and they move to the shower.
22. Hades and Persephone walk around town visiting shops after their visit to the greenhouse. They end up at a family owned pet store where one of the ladies that runs it, Gayle, tells them they have three puppies that were left in a box by the cypress bridge. Persephone asks permission to see/touch them and it is given. Hades picks one up. Persephone doesn’t like the idea of Hades being alone when she leaves. She tells him he should get one of them. He decides to get all three. Gayle warns him about how tough it will be to have three puppies, but his kind is already made up. Persephone says she is surprised he is buying three dogs. He says they are buying them because he cannot say no to her. She has been thinking of Hades place as home and she knows she has to stop so she can leave after her she gets her trust fund on her birthday. She decides she can’t trade one cage for another by staying in Olympus.
23. The dogs are kept in a room close to the courtyard. Hades is playing with them when Persephone finds him. She asks about naming them. He has named the largest Cerberus. He wants her to name the other two. She is afraid they naming them will make her want to stay. Hades says if they were different people, he would beg her to stay. She says if they were the case he wouldn’t have to because she would never leave. He is determined to let her have her freedom and asks her to name the other two dogs so he can keep a piece of her. She names them Charybdis and Scylla. Georgie comes in to play with the dogs and the couple leaves for their show. When they get to the black door, Hades can tell Persephone is nervous. He reminds her she doesn’t have to go through with their plan. She says she wants to, but as they go inside and make their way ti the throne, he can see her mask go back on. He sits on the throne and pulls her to his lap. He tells her they will hold off because he wants to keep their sex life to themselves for now. He promises they can work up to the dais as she gets more comfortable. She blows him and he doesn’t like the idea of the people watching them because they are thinking poorly of Persephone. She tells him to pretend it is just them and he finishes. They switch positions after.
24. Persephone notices everyone in the room watching as she sits on the throne while Hades goes down in her. After she gets off, he offers her his hand. She takes it and he announces that they belong to each other. They leave the room and go back to the one they share. Hades is having a bit of a meltdown and Persephone hugs him to calm him down. He admits he doesn’t want her to go but he will keep his promise and not ask her to stay. They have sex and he tells her he wants her to think about that night when she has her freedom and is with someone else. Afterwards, he apologies. She isn’t sorry about any of it.
25. Hades can’t sleep. When Persephone’s phone starts ringing, he wakes her up to tell her Eurydice is calling. Persephone answers and her little sister says she is being followed. She was supposed to meet Orpheus, but he never showed up. Hades tells Persephone her sister will have to cross the River. Phersephone tells her to run to the bridge and they will meet her there. They get dressed quickly and go with Charon, Mynthe and a team to meet Eurydice. I hen they arrive, Eurydice appears out of the fog stumbling towards the bridge. Hades stops Persephone from going to her. When a man comes after Eurydice, Hades crosses the bridge himself. He shoots the man in the wrist to stop him from hurting Eurydice and then beats the man half to death before he hears Persephone scream his name. He goes to Eurydice who is terrified of him, and points her head so she can see her sister. She still can’t move, so he Carrie’s her across the bridge and into the car. He sends the sisters home with Mynthe and stays behind to give Charon instructions for preparing the city for war.
26. Persephone uses the puppies to help calm down her sister. Eurydice lays in her lap and tries to get out her whole story. When she appears to be sleeping, Hades hands Persephone her phone and tells her to update her other sisters. She does and they all suspect Zeus is behind it all, but Orpheus is not innocent either. When Eurydice opens her eyes, she says he was acting strange and she suspects it was all planned. She says she is done with him. Persephone takes her to a spare room to shower while she goes to get tea and sleeping pills. Hades is already at the door with both. She thanks him for saving her sister and asks him to hold her for a while. He does and she decides she will not let him face the consequences alone. She is fine running.
27. Hades is surprised that Persephone isnMt terrified of him. He thanks her for calling his name to stop him. She says that is why she did it. She is grateful he saved her sister. She plans to stay with Eurydice and he leaves her feeling like she is saying goodbye. He goes to his office where Andreas has been drinking. He tries to warn Hades that Zeus will attack soon. Hades has Charon, his nephew, take him to bed. Hermes slips in and tells him she is not happy that he gave Zeus the opening because no one in the Thirteen can afford to go up against Zeus. She delivers the message that he has 13 hours to return the sisters to the other side of the bridge. Hermes hugs him before she goes. Hades has been preparing for Zeus’ attack all his life, but he never figured Persephone would be involved. He decides he must stick with his plan
28. Hermes comes to Persephone with a message from Zeus. He says he will consider calling off the war if she returns with her sister. She sends Hermes to her mother with an offer. Persephone takes care of her sister while she waits for a reply. When Hermes returns with Demeter’s reply saying she has a deal, Persephone gets dressed in a black corseted dress and they leave through the tunnels to find Dionysus in a car nearby. They cross the bridge to the upper city and it gives Persephone an uncomfortable feeling. When they start heading away from her mother’s penthouse and to Dodona Tiwer, Persephone strangles Hermes, who tries to explain they is where Demeter is. Persephone takes the elevator up and struts into the party. People get out of her way and Zeus grabs hold of her. He is excited she returned and that he gets to punish her for what she has done. She says he’ll have to wait and leaves with her mother. When they can talk safely, Persephone tells her mother about her own attack as well as Eurydice’s and how they were safe with Hades until she started cutting off supply lines. Demeter admits she had planned to poison Zeus enough to make him too sick to rule so his heir would have to take over. Persephone agrees to stay in Olympus and try to convince Hade Sri attend six functions a year in the upper city. Demeter wants the impression that they are friends to scare people. In exchange, she will get the other in the Thirteen to be against the war. They both agree Zeus is too much of a liability. Persephone realizes she loves Hades and thinks the risk is worth saving his and his people’s lives.
29. Hades sees the security footage of Persephone leaving in a black dress with Hermes. He finds a note in her book saying she loves him and has to do what she can to save him and his people. Without thinking, he starts heading to the upper city to save her. Hermes and Dionysus pull up in a car to take him. When they arrive at Dodona tower, Hermes hands him a gun and has a message from Demeter telling him she, Hermes, Dionysus, Poseidon, and Athena are all backing him. He sneaks into the tower and remembers his plans to assassinate Zeus from when he was youngerZ. He makes it tot he top floor without seeing anyone else. He goes to Zeus’ room and finds him having sex with a women over the bathroom sink. He is relieved it sunny Persephone. He hides in the shadows until the woman is gone and Zeus sits at his desk. He pulls out the gun and points it at him and while telling him good morning
30. Zeus knows that Hades isn’t going to shoot him. He takes the opportunity to get up and start fighting him. Zeus is a lot stronger than Hades anticipated. Zeus tries to get the gun out of Hades’ hand so he can kill him. A couple of shots go off in the process. They get spun around and when Zeus rushes Hades to throw a punch that misses, he ends up going out the shattered window. Hades tries to grab him to save him, but is too late. When Hades leaves the room, Demeter is there with gloves to clean up the mess before Ares’ men come to investigate. She tells him he will honor the agreement Persephone made to save him and not hurt her daughter. He agrees and walks home unnoticed by the people of the upper city they have never seen him before. He realizes he has lost everything, but he must let Persephone be free.
31. Persephone dresses in dark colors and Demeter tells her she will need to get Hades to the press conference in a few hours. When Persephone gets to Hades’ door, it is Eurydice that answers having had warning from Psyche. She agrees to return home and tells Persephone to go to Hades. She finds him on the floor with the puppies and joins him. She sees his face and realizes he is the one that fought Zeus. He explains what happens and expects her to leave him. She tells him she understands and so many people are relieved they Zeus is dead. She is only sorry if the burden he will carry for it. She tells him the deal she had to make to get Demeter’s support and favors called in. He laughs and considers the appearances a small price to pay for her freedom and saving his city from war. They declare their love for each other, but the. Have to get ready for the press conference about Zeus’ death. When they arrive, Persephone starts to head towards where her mother and sisters are, but Hades asks her to stay with humans she agrees. He squeezes her hand through the entire thing though he doesn’t.my have to speak. When they are leaving, the press tries to ask them question. Persephone points out they are in mourning and will answer questions later. Hades asks her to live in with him and she accepts.
